Pedagogical Supervision at NAALE

The goals of the NAALE unit
--------------------
To build an additional support circle for the NAALE students who are in Israel without their parents and thus help them with the personal and group educational process they are going through.
.This support will consist in giving the students an increased ability to face different situations, in standing in for the parents in special situations affecting the students on a case by case basis, and in maintaining an educational dialog with the teams

Yearly curriculum for the informal education area
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Every year the NAALE program runs educational programs during the summer holiday period. These programs are run several times every year for the students of the same class all over the country.

Activity goals
--------------------------------
To face basic questions in education through experiences which allow for internalization of the issues.

The issues we deal with
------------------------------------
Tenth grade - workshops to facilitate group integration, dealing with individual/group issues and group/environment issues.
Familiarization with Israel by means of field trips.

Eleventh grade - feelings of identity and belonging; starting with personal and group identity, we progress to Jewish and Israeli identity. We learn about groups and segments within Israeli society.

Twelfth grade - with the end of the program near, getting ready for separation, independence, decision making and service.

NAALE Day - its goal is to strengthen feelings of belonging to the project and to an extended family, the NAALE family.

Host families
---------------------
Within the NAALE framework, we endeavor to find Israeli families with which the students will stay as guests on Saturdays and during vacations and holidays. This helps generate an additional contact point with Israeli society. The host-family program is implemented with the help of the Israeli Forum - Reut Project. Many volunteers are involved in it, and they open their hearts and homes to NAALE children to help them with their transition process into Israeli society.
